CSM Marc Lua

CSM Marc Lua is the Commandant at the 1st BN (NCOA), 199th RTI, Camp Cook, Ball, LA. He enlisted into the Louisiana National Guard in February 1993. His first duty assignment was in Service Battery, 1-141st Field Artillery Battalion in New Orleans, LA as a 76Y, Unit Supply Clerk. 

CSM Lua’s professional military education includes, Primary Leader Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course, Operation Security Course, Commandants Pre-Command Course, and the Army Sergeants Major Academy.

He has held several Active Guard Reserve (AGR) positions, including Admin NCO, Training NCO, Readiness NCO, BN/DRU Assistant Operations NCO, Group Operations Sergeant Major, and Louisiana Army National Guard G3/5/7 Operations Sergeant Major. CSM Lua deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003-2004, Operation New Dawn in 2010, and Operation Inherent Resolve in 2017-2018 

His military awards and recognitions include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Louisiana SGM of the Year (2019), Recipient of The Honorable Order of Saint Barbara and several other federal and state awards.
